Fresno, CA - Congressional candidate Michael Maher is continuing to connect with the diverse landscape of the 21st district by taking time to sit and pray with the Hindu community at the Fresno Hindu Temple. Maher attended the weekly Pooja at Durga Mata Mandir Fresno Hindu Temple. While his opponent Jim Costa remains absent in his district, Maher is working tirelessly to communicate and deliver a strong voice for the Hindu and Sikh communities.

Maher issued this statement, “Freedom of religion and worship is a central right established in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. My Christian faith and desire, through love, to serve one another emboldens me to connect with all people of all faiths. I am constantly inspired by the hospitality and generosity of our Valley’s faith communities, as I was during my visit with the leaders and parishioners at the Hindu Temple. I believe the only way to truly serve is by listening to and learning from each community. When I’m elected, I will continue to respectfully work hand in hand with all of our communities, representing all people regardless of race, religion, gender, political affiliation, or status to solve the issues we face together.”
